Get a grip on tyres

How likely is it that my tyres need checking?

It is estimated that 1 in 10 British motorists drive with at least one tyre that is illegal. The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm, but at this point your tyres are putting you and other road users at risk. It is recommended you change your tyres when the tread depth reaches 3mm - following new research that highlighted an 8 metre difference in stopping distance when travelling at 50mph in the wet compared to tyres at 1.6mm legal limit.
