The Apprentice.........You’re Hired!
The Tustain Motors Vauxhall Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) Apprentice program has been running for over 6 years and for the last 18 months we have been working in partnership with Northumberland College in Ashington. Not only does our program give young people the opportunity to earn while they learn but also gives them a nationally recognised motor vehicle maintenance NVQ level 2 qualification.
Over the last 6 years, like proud parents, we have seen our young apprentices come into the business as school boys. We have watched them develop, grow and achieve, not only academically but also in confidence & maturity as young men. They bring their newly found passion and enthusiasm to the dynamics of our experienced teams, who, in turn mentor our apprentices to work in line with our culture & values of Friendly, Helpful , Honest and Reliable, which we live by each and every day at Tustain Motors. As a result, to date, every apprentice who has qualified is now employed and part of our ever growing Tustain Motors family.
So you may remember last year we proudly announced one of our apprentices, Jordan Martin, achieving runner up for Vauxhall Apprentice of the year 2016. Well, since then he has committed to working hard and continues with his studies and has gone on to achieve Vauxhall’s ATA gold standard putting him in the company of this clever bunch of our ATA Gold Standard technicians.
At our Berwick branch we have Michael Swinney and Stuart Skeldon, from Alnwick Curtis Winn & Dave Coleran, Graham Anderson from Haddington, Tom Chalmers from Hawick and most recently Brett Hocking achieving the first gold ATA for our Ashington dealership.
We are continuing to celebrate more apprentice success through 2017 as we have newly qualified Richard Burn following in Jordan’s footsteps as he has also been nominated for Vauxhall Apprentice of the year 2017. So we’ll keep you posted on that ......we’re keeping everything crossed for you Richard!
And finally, here we have our latest apprentice hopefuls set to continue our success through 2018 & 2019. The standard is high but we’re confident they’ll all be enjoying similar successes. One thing is for sure there’ll certainly be lots to talk about along the way as we follow them on their apprentice journey with Tustain Motors.
